Framing Migration is a research platform exploring issues of photography & migration. Set up by set up by artist Anna Gormley to bring together early career researchers, thinkers, photographers and image-makers seeking new and innovative ways to push the boundaries of their discipline.
We designed the identity to subtly reference the frame created by photography as well as the movement of migration.
We used the typeface Favorit for its low contrast character, allowing for easy readability and its subtle oddities that give it an approachable, human touch.
As part of the identity we designed a set of animated posters. These were used across social media as well as being developed into a series of printed stills used in the Calais and Dunkirk camps to engage volunteers and NGO staffers with a project exploring photographs thought about but never taken.
