We were commissioned by the Arts Council Collection to design a new visual identity for the National Partners Programme – a project creating a national network of galleries and museums to curate and present exhibitions of modern and contemporary art drawn from the Arts Council Collection.

We created a bold visual identity inspired by the concept that the Arts Council Collection is a ‘gallery without walls’. We developed a graphic system to represent this that allowed the images and typography to move around freely within a structured grid.

The typographic system we developed used Basis Grotesque Mono for the rational, structured content alongside the more traditional Akzidenz Grotesque. The vibrant colour palette chosen was derived from ACC artworks to enable to identity to have impact, adding to audience awareness of the programme.
